Jazz-bird

Avery is located in the New Orleans warehouse district, situated at the harbor of the Mississippi Delta. New Orleans has created many things, but the first thing that comes to mind is: JAZZ…
A soulful city that has been heavily flooded not so long ago, traces of suffering and pain still show on her body. New Orleans has left a treasure of objects and architectural elements that carry stories and memories; I recycled in an improvised way.

“Blackbird singing in the dead of night
take these broken wings and learn to fly
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Black bird singing in the dead of night
take these sunken eyes and learn to see
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
into the light of the dark black night.”

-Beatles- (sung by Cassandra Wilson)

I dress. I’ve been working in this profession since 1987. I embrace work in progress, the effort and collective excitement that lies in the process.
As I have touched and have been touched, there are many stories to tell.
